Orazio Satta Puliga
Orazio Satta Puliga (born October 6, 1910 in Turin , † March 22, 1974 in Milan ) was an Italian engineer . He was Head of Technical Development at Alfa Romeo for 27 years after World War II .
He studied mechanical engineering and aeronautical engineering at the Turin Polytechnic . After completing his military service, he began his career in the development department of Alfa Romeo in 1938. In 1946 he succeeded his boss at the time, Wifredo Ricart, as head of the development department. In 1951 he was appointed director and in 1969 vice director. He retired in 1973 and died a year later of a brain tumor.
The list of car models that were developed in its time is long and largely successful. It shaped the Alfa Romeo brand until the 1970s: 6C , 158 and 159 , 1900 , 2000 , 2600 , Giulietta , Giulia , GTA , 1750 , Montreal , Alfetta and the types derived from them. For him, Alfa Romeo was not just a technical product, but also something emotional; he himself even called the enthusiasm for Alfa Romeo an illness.
