Ordem is a municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district ( concelho ) of Lousada . 1197 inhabitants live in it (as of June 30, 2011).

history

A parish already existed here in 770 . The place name probably goes back to Ordem dos Cavaleiros do Templo , the Portuguese name for the Knights Templar who received the area during the Reconquista .

Culture and sights

The parish church Igreja Paroquial de Ordem ( also Igreja de Santa Eulália after its patron saint ), built in the 16th century, is a listed building.
