history

Figueiras was first mentioned in writing in 968 . In the royal surveys of 1258 , the place is noted as an independent municipality.

Culture and sights

In addition to the chapel Capela de Nossa Senhora da Misericórdia , the late baroque parish church Igreja Paroquial de Figueiras (after its patron saint also Igreja do Divino Salvador , dt .: Church of the Redeemer) from the 18th century is a listed building.
