Oregon Institute of Technology abb. Oregon Tech or OIT is a State Technical College in Oregon and the only technical university in the northwest of the United States. The main campus is located in Klamath Falls in the US state of Oregon. Additional campuses are located in Portland and Salem . The focus is on technical courses and studies in the health sector.
history
The college was founded in 1947 as the Oregon Vocational School to provide vocational training for returning veterans of World War II . The first lectures were held at a former United States Marine Corps military hospital northwest of Klamath Falls. Renamed the Oregon Technical Institute in 1953, the first academic training took place, leading to an associate degree . The main campus moved to the current facility in 1964 and in 1973 the institute was given its current name.

As usual at US universities, this university is divided into schools:
- School of Engineering, Technology and Management
- School of Health, Arts and Sciences
The vast majority of students acquire an associate degree or a Bachelor of Science degree . In addition, some Master’s degrees are offered.
