from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The organ town of Brandenburg an der Havel includes historical and modern organs from the 18th to the 21st century. The Wagner organ from 1725 in the cathedral is considered to be one of the most important preserved historical organs in the Mark Brandenburg . The organ by Johann Wilhelm Grüneberg from 1793 in the church in Plaue has largely been preserved. The Sauer organ in the Katharinenkirche from 1898 also has a baroque prospectus by Joachim Wagner from 1726. There are also newer instruments from the organ building companies Schuke , Jehmlich and Sauer .

The Gotthardtkirche owns an organ from Schuke Orgelbau from 1979 to 1986 with 44 registers and three manuals and pedal . This had replaced the Sauer organ from 1904/06 with a prospectus by Joachim Wagner from 1737, which was destroyed in a church fire in 1972.

history

From 1553 to 1554/1557 Jacob Scherer built an organ for the Gotthardt Church. In 1707, Arp Schnitger gave it a certificate. From 1736 to 1737 Joachim Wagner built a new instrument. The bellows stood in the cross-vaulted room above the tower porch.

From 1904 to 1906 the organ building company W. Sauer replaced the organ while keeping the baroque prospectus. The toy manufacturer Ernst Paul Lehmann was the founder. The bellows with the motor were placed in the space above the old bellows space. The old one was used for the church library.

On May 5, 1972, the organ with the valuable baroque prospectus was destroyed in a fire in the church. In 1979 the Schuke company from Potsdam started with a completely new building. The restorer Fritz Leweke (1901–2001) created the prospectus. The new instrument was inaugurated on September 7, 1986.

Disposition
