Orlando Romero Cabrera

Orlando Romero Cabrera (born December 21, 1933 in Fagina ) is Bishop Emeritus of Canelones .

Life

Orlando Romero Cabrera was ordained a priest on December 15, 1957 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Gubaliana and auxiliary bishop in Montevideo on May 26, 1986 . He was ordained episcopal by the Archbishop of Montevideo, José Gottardi Cristelli SDB , on July 13 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Pablo Jaime Galimberti di Vietri , Bishop of San José de Mayo , and Raúl Horacio Scarrone Carrero , Auxiliary Bishop in Montevideo.

On October 25, 1994, he was appointed Bishop of Canelones. On February 23, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
