Orestes Santiago Nuti Sanguinetti SDB (born October 15, 1919 in Montevideo , Uruguay , † November 2, 1999 ) was Bishop of Canelones .

Life

Orestes Nuti Santiago Sanguinetti joined the religious order of the Salesians of Don Bosco in and received on 1 December 1946, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On July 9, 1960, Pope John XXIII appointed him . to the Bishop of Melo . The Apostolic Nuncio in Uruguay, Archbishop Raffaele Forni , donated him episcopal ordination on August 21 ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Morón , Miguel Raspanti SDB, and the Bishop of Minas , José Maria Cavallero .

On January 2, 1962, Pope John XXIII appointed him. to the first bishop of Canelones. On October 25, 1994, Pope John Paul II accepted Orestes Santiago Nuti Sanguinetti’s resignation due to reasons of age.

Orestes Santiago Nuti Sanguinetti attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
