Oscar Domingo Sarlinga (born May 20, 1963 in Buenos Aires , Argentina ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and emeritus bishop of Zárate-Campana .

Life

Oscar Domingo Sarlinga was ordained a priest on April 30, 1990 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Uzalis and auxiliary bishop in Mercedes-Luján on April 12, 2003 . The episcopal ordination donated to him the Archbishop of Mercedes-Luján, Rubén Héctor di Monte on May 17th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Jorge Mario Cardinal Bergoglio SJ , Archbishop of Buenos Aires , and Emilio Ogñénovich , Archbishop Emeritus of Mercedes-Luján.

On February 3, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Zárate-Campana. The ceremonial inauguration ( enthronement ) took place on February 18 of the same year.

After allegations of embezzlement , money laundering and abuse of power had arisen, Pope Francis initiated an investigation in 2013. On November 3, 2015, Pope Francis accepted Oscar Sarlinga's offer of resignation as Bishop of Zárate-Campana.
