Oscar Moens (born April 1, 1973 in 's-Gravenzande ) is a former Dutch football goalkeeper and today's goalkeeping coach in the youth of Feyenoord Rotterdam .
Career
Club player
Moens began his goalkeeping career at MSV '71 in Maassluis and at Schiedamse VV before joining the Ajax Amsterdam youth team . There he played until the U-19s. In 1992 he got his first professional contract with Excelsior Rotterdam , where he played 109 league games between the posts until 1995. In 1995 he moved to the Go Ahead Eagles Deventer for a year before signing a contract with AZ Alkmaar in 1996 . In the 2001/02 season he was awarded to RBC Roosendaal . After the loan ended, he stayed in Alkmaar for another year before moving to Italy for CFC Genoa . However, after he was not even used in the 2003/04 season, he moved back to the Netherlands to Willem II Tilburg . In 2006 he went to PSV Eindhoven for a year and became Dutch champions with the club. In the Supercup for the Johan Cruijff Schaal , the team lost 1-0 to Ajax Amsterdam. After only two missions and one season, the expiring contract was not extended. In 2008 Moens signed another contract in Tilburg. However, he remained without commitment and left the club again in 2009. In 2010 he went to the United States for Dayton Dutch Lions FC , where he played a total of 15 games from April to August 2010. In December he came back to Europe and joined Sparta Rotterdam , where he played the 2010/11 season and then ended his active career.
National team
Moens played two games for the Dutch national football team . In his first appearance on October 13, 1998 in a friendly against Ghana , which ended 0-0, he did not play over 90 minutes. Only in his second appearance on November 10, 2001 against the Danish national football team , he was in the goal of the Oranje for the entire time.
Trainer
Since July 2014 Moens has been working as a goalkeeping coach in the youth team of Feyenoord Rotterdam at the Feyenoord Academy . Moens also took part in the Rotterdam Marathon in 2014 .
