Oskar Danzier

Oskar Danzier (born July 3, 1820 in Kolberg , † July 10, 1879 at Windeck Castle ) was district administrator of the Waldbröl and Mülheim am Rhein districts .

Life

Danzier studied philosophy and law in Bonn and Heidelberg from 1837 to 1840 . On November 22, 1842 he became a trainee lawyer, on October 18, 1845 a court assessor at the Cologne Regional Court and in April 1847 with the Cologne government. From 1848 to 1852 he was district administrator for the Waldbröl district. From August 14, 1852 to April 14, 1862, he finally worked as district administrator for the Mülheim am Rhein district.

On September 13, 1858, Danzier was elected for the rural communities of the administrative district of Cologne in the election held in Brühl as a member of the provincial council.

In 1852 Danzier bought the Windeck castle ruins . He had clean-up work done and paths and stairs built. The ruins were converted into a park landscape. In 1859/60 Danzier had a castle house, the so-called " Windeck Castle ", built on the southeastern tip of the castle hill on the foundations and vaults of the medieval castle .

In April 1861, Danzier founded the Bergisch Railway Committee in Hückeswagen with other well-known notables such as the Bergisch Gladbach paper manufacturer Carl Richard Zanders .

In 1865, Danzier was involved in founding the Dortmund machine factory Wagner & Co. as an investor.

Honors

According to him, which is Danzierstraße in Mülheim (Cologne) named.
