Heinrich Joseph Joesten

Heinrich Joseph Joesten (born November 12, 1763 at Haus Overbach ; † May 23, 1829 in Waldbröl ) was a German lawyer and local politician. He was a judge and from 1816 the first district administrator in the Waldbröl district .

Life

As the son of the court school teacher Johann Wilhelm Joesten and Anna Anna Margaretha Joesten, geb. Grieffrath was the descendant of Heinrich Joseph Joesten in an established family in Much . From 1721 she owned Haus Overbach by marriage. In 1781 enrolled Joesten at the University in Cologne to study law . In 1790 Joesten held the office of the court school in Much, subsequently he became a judge at the high court in the Windeck office , which met every 14 days in Waldbröl . In addition, as chairman, he was responsible for the side courts in Much, Eckenhagen and Morsbach. After the Bergisch jurisdiction was adapted to the Code Napoleon , he was justice of the peace in the canton of Waldbröl from 1812 to April 30, 1816 . During this time Joesten had to flee from the uprising of the conscientious objector Johann Wilhelm Pauli in 1813 . In April 1816 Heinrich Joseph Joesten was initially acting district administrator of the newly formed Waldbröl district. The final appointment was made with the highest cabinet order of May 9, 1818, whereby Joesten was released from taking the required exams. He died on duty.

The Catholic Joesten married Johanna Katharina Henriette de Berghes on November 17, 1795 (* July 4, 1775 in Wipperfürth; † November 12, 1833 at Haus Overbach), a daughter of the Jülisch-Bergischer Hofkammerrat Franz Adam Ernst de Berghes (1722–1819) and the Magdalena Catherine Esther de Berghes, b. Richeln. The couple had 15 children.
