history
Overbach Castle was first mentioned in 1487 with Heinrich von Overbach .
The last noble owner with a castle seat was Johann Friedrich von Omphal. He sold the castle to Dr. Sybertz, who passed it on to Johann Adolf Sauer, the Mucher Schultheiss . In 1685 the castle was renovated.
Heinrich Joseph Joesten died here in 1829. His descendants sold the castle to Pastor Bloch around 1870.
At the end of the 19th century, Count von Nesselrode acquired the castle from a bank.
In 1901 the estate had six residents. Gerhard Miebach was the tenant.
Around 1910 it was leased by Karl Lüdenbach, whose son-in-law Wilhelm Willmund then became the last agricultural tenant of the castle.
The golf club Burg Overbach has owned the site since 1984 and operates an 18-hole golf course on 80 hectares in addition to a restaurant .
