Oskar Friedmann (born July 13, 1872 in Vienna ; † November 3, 1929 there ) was a journalist and writer.

Live and act

Egon Friedell's brother was supposed to take over his father's factory and began studying at the University of Vienna after graduating from high school . Having embarked on a career as an artist, he initially worked as an actor, director and writer. He was in contact with Leopold Rosner . After Rosner's illness - and possibly with his license - he founded the Vienna publishing house in autumn 1899 , which he sold to Fritz Freund in 1903 .

Together with Felix Fischer (1879–1944) he founded the Intimate Theater , of which he was temporarily director. In 1910 he married Camilla Frydan , with whom he created several stage productions. After establishing himself as a comedian, he also wrote operetta libretti , partly with brother-in-law Ludwig Herzer , Bela Jenbach and Fritz Lunzer .
