Oskar Kapp

Oskar Kapp (born September 24, 1912 in Fellbach , † December 11, 1943 in Emden ) was a German football player.

Career

Kapp was one as goalkeeper of 1934 bis 1937 the VfB Stuttgart at, for which he in Gauliga Württemberg , in a later first 16 to 23 spiked Gauligen the era of National Socialism as a uniform top flight in the German Reich denied point games. During his club membership he won the Gaume Championship twice and as a result took part in the final round of the German Championship 1934/35 . He played all games in Group D , as well as the semi-finals won on June 2, 1935 in Leipzig 4-2 against VfL Benrath . The final against FC Schalke 04 , which was scheduled for June 23, 1935 in Cologne, was lost 4-6 in a high-scoring encounter.

In order to avoid arrest, he volunteered for the Navy , in which he reached the rank of corporal . After suffering a leg injury from several shipwrecks with minesweepers during World War II , he was transferred to Emden as a naval artilleryman. There he played in the 6th MAA as a goalkeeper in the ETV-Kriegsmarine soccer team . In Emden he was killed in an air raid on December 11, 1943 ; he secretly distributed pamphlets for the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold . He found his final resting place in the Kleinfeldfriedhof in Fellbach .
