Oskar Kosche (born August 18, 1967 in Berlin ) is a former German football player .
Career as a player
Kosche started playing football at BSG Turbine Gaswerke Berlin before joining 1. FC Union Berlin for the first time in 1974 . He went through the youth training of the "Iron" for ten years before he switched to their big rival BFC Dynamo in 1984 . He stayed there - interrupted by a brief engagement for Dynamo Fürstenwalde - until 1992 and moved up to the first men's team. He was also used twelve times in the youth team of the GDR .
In the 1989/1990 season Kosche took over from Bodo Rudwaleit the position of goalkeeper at the BFC, which he lost again to Ilja Walow in the following season . He then moved to FC Sachsen Leipzig , where he and the team did qualify for the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 1992/1993 season , but the club was refused a license. Thereupon Kosche went back to Berlin to his old club Union, with whom he, curiously, experienced the same fate as with FC Sachsen in the following season - even the athletically qualified Unionern were refused the license. Kosche stayed in Berlin for a total of six years and became the team's strong support and captain . In addition, he volunteered in the association's office when the association was facing financial ruin and its employees could no longer pay.
However, he later fell out with coach Fritz Fuchs and then moved to local rivals SV Babelsberg 03 . In Babelsberg, Kosche ended his playing career a year later and finally switched to management.
Career as a functionary
Initially, Kosche became a manager in Babelsberg. However, he did not have much success there and resigned in May 2003 when the club was on the verge of bankruptcy. Then he came back to 1. FC Union, this time as head of the youth department. He has also been managing director since 2006 and was also a member of the executive committee of the association until 2009.
