Oskar Linke (writer)
Oskar Linke (also under the pseudonyms Oskar Klein , Taras Kunowski and Leon Ritter ; born on July 15, 1854 in Oranienburg ; died on October 8, 1928 in Weimar ) was a German storyteller, poet and journalist .
Life
Linke initially studied philology for the teaching profession, but gave up this course and studied philosophy, art studies and literature. In 1877 he received his doctorate in Halle with an art history thesis. In the following decades he worked as a journalist in Poznan , from 1903 to 1907 in Breslau and was most recently director of the Weimarische Zeitung . Alongside this work, Linke was a prolific writer of novels, short stories, and poetry both lyrical and epic. He dealt with the figure of Jesus Christ several times and wrote historical novels and stories from ancient Hellas.
He was married to Aline Claire and had four daughters from this marriage.
