Oscar Rabbethge

Oscar Rabbethge (born December 16, 1880 in Einbeck ; † 1965 ) was a German sugar industrialist.

Oscar Rabbethge belonged to a family of sugar manufacturers. His grandfather was Matthias Rabbethge , his father Carl Rabbethge, the namesake of Carl Rabbethge & Comp. oHG - sugar factory and agriculture in Einbeck. His brothers were Erich Rabbethge and Otto Rabbethge . His son-in-law was Carl-Ernst Büchting .

Life

After graduating from secondary school in Goslar, Oscar Rabbethge studied chemistry at the universities of Tübingen, Strasbourg, Berlin and Basel. In 1901 he became a member of the Corps Palatia Strasbourg . In 1904 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD. After graduating, he worked as a sugar chemist and farmer. From 1910 to 1950 he was a board member of the Klein Wanzleben sugar factory. Rabbethge & Giesecke AG and from 1951 to 1965 chairman of the supervisory board of the company that was now called Kleinwanzlebener Saatzucht, formerly Rabbethge & Giesecke AG .

Rabbethge was a member of the supervisory board of Deutsche Kredit- und Handelsgesellschaft AG in Berlin, Kant Schokoladenfabrik AG in Wittenberg and Gebr. Allendorff GmbH in Schönebeck on the Elbe. In 1935 he inherited the Carl Rabbethge & Co. company from his brother Otto, who had died childless .

During the First World War he was Rittmeister of the Reserve in Dragoon Regiment No. 16.
