Oskar Telke
Oskar Telke (born September 5, 1848 in Mieschkow, Jarotschin district , Posen province , † July 13, 1917 in Breslau ) was a German medic.
Life
Oskar Telke was the son of the mayor of Bentschen .
After the early death of his father, he was raised in his grandfather's family and attended elementary school in Gostyn and then the Comenius grammar school in Lissa . In the spring of 1870 he enrolled as a student at the University of Greifswald one, but his studies were interrupted when he volunteered in Mecklenburg Rifle Battalion reported to the campaign 1870-71 participate. In May 1871 he then continued his studies. In 1874 he received his doctorate as Dr. med. and on January 15, 1875 he received his license to practice medicine .
After serving another 4½ months in the military, he settled in Lobsens , Posen Province, as a doctor. In 1876 he took over the temporary administration of the district doctor's office in Boberberg in the Frankfurt administrative region . He passed the physics test in December 1877 and was finally employed as a district surgeon on February 15, 1878.
On October 1, 1880, he was appointed district physician of the Schroda district in the province of Posen, and on April 1, 1883, he was transferred to the Züllichau-Schwiebus district in the Frankfurt administrative district. On October 1, 1895, he was entrusted with the administration of the position of the government and medical council in the royal government in Cologne . On February 15, 1901, he was transferred to the government in Breslau in the same capacity; meanwhile had also been appointed to the secret medical council.
The Wrocław administrative district included 26 districts for which he was responsible, at the same time he was an expert in pharmacy matters for the President of Silesia and not only supervised the pharmacies, but was also responsible for the supervision of the nursing, insane and midwifery schools, nursing schools and of the bathrooms. In addition, there was supervision of the fight against contagious diseases.
In the summer of 1904, Oskar Telke was sent by the Prussian Medical Administration on a study trip to Austria-Hungary to find out about the progress made in the public health system. After his return he reported an extensive report on the organization of local Medizinalwesens and the main health and medical-technical equipment, the fact in the quarterly journal of Forensic Medicine and Public medical service was released
Oskar Telke married in 1876.

Oskar Telke was the chairman of the hygienic section of the Silesian Society for Patriotic Culture .
