Oskar von Meibom (born July 20, 1813 in Hessisch Oldendorf , † June 24, 1874 in Berlin ) was a German judge and politician in the Electorate of Hesse .

Life

Oskar von Meibom attended high school in Minden and the Ernestinum Rinteln . After graduating from high school, he studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and the Philipps-Universität Marburg . In 1835 he became active in the Corps Guestphalia Marburg . After the exams he entered the administration of justice in Kurhessen. In 1836 he became a trainee lawyer at the Kassel Supreme Court and in 1839 an assessor at the Hanau Supreme Court . There he was appointed senior judge in 1848. After the inauguration of the Ministry Hassenpflug he retired in 1850 at his own request from the Hessian government service and was Legal Counsel of the Duke Ernst of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha in Gotha . In Gotha he was also a judicial advisor and worked as a lawyer. In 1855 he became director of Gothaer Feuerversicherung in Berlin. There he became a secret councilor and had been a member of the Berlin city council since 1861 .

In February 1870 he was elected to the Reichstag of the North German Confederation in a replacement election in the constituency of Kassel 3 ( Fritzlar , Homberg , Ziegenhain ) , which also made him a member of the customs parliament , which was in session until May 1870 . He belonged to the National Liberal Party . In the Reichstag election in 1871 , he resigned.
