The Osterfelderkopf is a 2057 m high, weakly pronounced secondary peak on the northern flank of the Alpspitze in the Wetterstein Mountains in Bavaria . It is best known for the mountain station of the Alpspitzbahn with the AlpspiX viewing platform and as a starting point for numerous alpine sports.
Alpinism
The Osterfelderkopf is located on the northern slopes of the Alpspitze only approx. 100 meters below the Höllentorkopf . The mountain station of the Alpspitzbahn is located at 2033 m just below the small rocky summit. This makes the Osterfelderkopf the ideal starting point for numerous alpine tours in the Wetterstein around the Alpspitze.
These include B. the via ferrata Alpspitzferrata on the Alpspitze, the Nordwandsteig , the Schöngang and the Mauerläufersteig to the Bernadeinkopf , as well as the climbing tour of the Jubiläumsgrat to the Zugspitze .
The Osterfelderkopf is also the starting point for paragliders .
In winter the Osterfelderkopf is part of the Garmisch Classic ski area.
