The East Frisian coastal town of Norden is shocked by a series of murders . Their first two victims are Ulf Speicher and Kai Uphoff. Speicher is the head of the Rainbow Association , which looks after disabled people and also manages their finances and assets. He is found dead in his kitchen with a hole in his forehead. The second victim is Kai Uphoff, the FSJ member of the Rainbow Club. Like Speicher, he was also killed with a historical weapon. The rest of the Rainbow Club employees are worried and suspect that the killer could be after them too. And Paul Winter, the acting head of the facility for the disabled, is actually next. He is shot off his bike on the way home from work.
The police officer Ann Kathrin Klaasen and her two colleagues Frank Weller and Rupert are entrusted with the case. For the young commissioner, who is in a life crisis due to her family situation, the professional matter becomes a great test of endurance, as the boundaries between good and bad that she has known until now are becoming blurred.
