Ostheimer Warte

The Ostheimer Warte is one of numerous waiting towers in the area and dates from the 14th century.

The tower is 7 meters high and stands on a wooded ridge 334 m above sea level. NN southwest of Ostheim before the Rhön . The door opening, measuring 0.55 × 1 m, is 3 m high. As with the other towers in the area, it is assumed that the tower served as a signal tower.

Today the tower enjoys the so-called "Kirschberge" as a hiking destination , so that the tower was made accessible and there were rest areas around it. The view is now completely overgrown by the surrounding trees.
