Osvaldo Castro Pelayos (born April 14, 1947 in Copiapó ), also known by the nickname Pata Bendita , is a former Chilean football player in the position of striker .

Life

"Pata Bendita" Castro began his professional career in the 1964 season at Unión La Calera , with whom he narrowly escaped relegation in the 1967 season. After three years he moved to Club Deportes Concepción at the end of 1968 and three years later went to Mexico , where he played for five different clubs in the Mexican Primera División for the remainder of his 13-year career and often scored more than 20 goals per season. His most successful season was 1973/74 , when he was in the service of Club América with 26 goals from 32 games top scorer of the Mexican league.
