Osvaldo Desideri

Osvaldo Desideri (born February 16, 1939 in Rome ) is an Italian art director and production designer who won an Oscar for best production design .

Life

Desideri began working as art director and production designer in 1969 for the film Murder in a Black Cadillac (Femmine insaziabili) and has been involved in the production of over seventy films to this day.

At the Oscar ceremony in 1988 , he won together with Ferdinando Scarfiotti and Bruno Cesari Oscar for Best Production Design in by Bernardo Bertolucci directed film The Last Emperor (1987) with John Lone , Joan Chen and Peter O'Toole in the lead roles . He, Scarfiotti and Cesari also won the David di Donatello in 1988 for production design .

For the film Gli indesiderabili (2003) by Pasquale Scimeca with Antonio Catania , Marcello Mazzarella and Vincenzo Albanese , he and his daughter Eva Desideri were nominated for the 2004 Silver Ribbon , the Nastro d'Argento des Sindacato Nazionale Giornalisti Cinematografici Italiani (SNGCI).
