Oswald Heimbucher
Oswald Heimbucher (born September 27, 1924 in Regensburg ; † March 22, 2016 in Würzburg ) was a German literary scholar and author.
Life and works
Heimbucher grew up in Regensburg, went to high school there and obtained his Abitur . After the war and French captivity, he became a teacher at the secondary schools in Sulzbach-Rosenberg and Riedenburg , most recently as vice-principal . His works deal with German post-war literature, among his best-known works are: “The Second World War in the Mirror of Contemporary German Literature” and “Tolerance - Reconciliation - Peace: Declaration of Love to Sulzbach-Rosenberg”. Heimbucher was the first chairman of the Sulzbach-Rosenberg literary archive from 1977 to 1988 .
Oswald Heimbucher was also committed to music culture and founded the Sulzbach-Rosenberg Singing and Music School in 1956. He played the viola himself and took part in numerous performances as a conductor and choir director. Among other things, he accompanied Adolf Scherbaum on several concert tours through Europe.
In 1981 he was awarded the Culture Prize of the city of Sulzbach-Rosenberg .
The urn was buried in the Freiwald on the Schwanberg near Kitzingen .
