Otakar Krámský (born July 1, 1959 in Jilemnice , † April 25, 2015 near Tulwitz ) was a Czech mountain racer .

Career

At the beginning of his career, Krámský drove a Škoda 130L , with which he first took part in a race for the European Hill Climb Championship in 1987 . From 1989 Krámský drove a Škoda Favorit 136L. During the 1990 season he switched to a Group N Ford Sierra Cosworth . In 1992 he joined the group A . There he drove a BMW M3 E30 , with which he won the European Championship in Category I for the first time in 1995. After switching to the BMW M3 E36 , Krámský was able to repeat this success in 1997 and 1998. In 1999 Krámský switched to a significantly faster Osella-BMW PA 20 S , a sports prototype from Group CN . In 2002, with this vehicle, he became vice European champion in category II for racing cars.

After the CN sports prototypes had no chance after the Formula 3000 racing cars were registered in the European Championship, Krámský switched to a Reynard 99L Formula Nippon racing car in 2006 . Its main competitors in the European Hill Climb Championship were only occasionally taking off in the championship Frenchman Lionel Régal and the Italian Fausto Bormolini, Renzo Napione and the new Osella FA 30 propelled Simone Faggioli .

The special feature of Krámský's racing car was a yellow, mostly neon yellow paint. Krámský drove for the Czech national team , as did his team-mate Nico Pulic, who comes from Croatia .

In the training run for the 43rd Rechberg race near Tulwitz, Krámský had a fatal accident when his vehicle went off the track at the junction with "Walcherweg" and shot into the forest at high speed.
