Career
As a player
society
Korghalidze began his career with Guria Lantschchuti , for which he played his first game in the Pervaya League , the second highest Soviet division. In 1980 he moved to the first division club Dinamo Tbilisi . It is unclear where he was active in the 1981 season. In 1982 he moved to Torpedo Kutaisi , with whom he had to relegate to the Pervaya League in 1983 as penultimate. In this one spent only one season, in the season 1984 Korghalidze scored 24 goals in 42 games for Kutaisi and was thus significantly involved in the resurgence. He then played with Kutaisi again in the top division until 1986, before relegating to the Pervaya League again at the end of that season.
Then Korghalidse moved to the 1987 season for a second time to the first division club Dinamo Tbilisi. During the 1988 season he returned to the second division Guria Lantschchuti. With Guria Lantschchuti he participated in the newly introduced Umaghlessi League from the 1990 season , which from then on represented the highest Georgian league. In the 1991 season he was the top scorer in the Georgian league with 14 goals in 18 games. In the following season 1991/92 he was again the top scorer with 40 goals in 35 games, and he also scored more goals than any other player in that season in a top European division. However, he was not included in the ranking for the golden shoe .
For the 1992/93 season he moved to league rivals Alsani Gurdschaani . For the club he came to 27 appearances in the Umaghlessi League that season, in which he scored 23 goals. After a year with Alsani Gurjaani, he returned to Guria Lanchuti in the summer of 1993. In November 1993 he moved to Austria for SV Austria Salzburg . He made his debut in the 1st Division in the same month when he came on as a substitute for Damir Mužek on the 17th matchday of the 1993/94 season against SK Rapid Vienna in the 61st minute . After three games for Salzburg, he moved to league rivals Wiener Sport-Club in January 1994 . For the Viennese he came to twelve goalless missions in the 1st division by the end of the season, but had to relegate at the end of the season.
In 1995 he returned to Dinamo Tbilisi. After five games for Dinamo he moved to Azerbaijan to Neftçi Baku , for which he played four games. For the 1995/96 season Korghalidse moved to Estonia for FC Flora Tallinn . He was on eight missions for Flora. For the 1996/97 season he returned to Georgia and moved to Odischi Zugdidi . After three games for Zugdidi, he moved again to Guria Lantschchuti during the current season, for which he was active until the end of the season. In 2000 he played one more game in Estonia for FC Kuressaare before ending his career.
National team
Korghalidze played his only game for the Georgian national team in May 1990 against Lithuania in Georgia's first game.
As a trainer
Korghalidze coached Arsenal Tbilisi in 1998 . He then briefly coached FC Merani Tbilisi in 1999 before becoming the coach of Dinamo Tbilisi , which he coached until December 1999.
