Otome game no Hametsu Flag Shika Nai Akuyaku Reijo ni Tensei Shiteshimatta ... ( Japanese 乙女ゲームの破滅フラグしかない悪役令嬢に転生してしまった... Otome Gemu no Hametsu Furagu Shika Nai Akuyaku Reijo ni Tensei Shiteshimatta ... , German , I was in an otome game reborn in the role of the adversary with all the signs of certain doom ... ' ), Hamefura for short ( は め ふ ら ), is a series of novels by Satoru Yamaguchi that started as a web novel and then appeared as a light novel . The work was adapted as a manga in 2017 and as an anime in 2020 . The latter also appears with German subtitles.

action

As the offspring of a noble family, eight-year-old Catarina Claes has an easy life. She often plays with Geordo Stuart, a son of the royal family. But when she falls down at one of the games and passes out, Catarina remembers her previous life: that of a schoolgirl in modern Japan who was killed in a traffic accident. A manga and games fanatic, Catarina also played a dating sim called Fortune Lover . In that she finds herself again, but not as a heroine, but as an opponent. In nine years, at the start of the game, she will be attending the Magic Academy and another student will relax her fiancé Geordo and Catarina will be banished or dead. Some of the other “conquerable” characters in the game also lead to a bad ending for Catarina. So she resolves to shape the world around her by the decisive day in such a way that she gets off lightly.

After she wakes up - out of guilt about the scar from the fall - Geordo becomes engaged to Catarina. She also gets stepbrother Keith. But Catarina takes care of him so that he does not get lonely and ultimately becomes a womanizer to be courted by the protagonist, as in the game. Geordo's brother Alan also gets to know Catarina and helps him to develop more self-esteem. Catarina becomes friends with his fiancée Mary Hunt - the rival in the "conquest" of Alans. And she gets to know Sophia Ascart, the daughter of the premieres who is bullied by many children because of her unusual appearance. Both girls share their enthusiasm for romance novels and make friends, while Catarina is in contact with her brother Nicol Ascart. Nicol, who is beguiling with his gaze, is another target in the game, with his sister being the opponent.

Over the years of her efforts, Catarina has built a good relationship with everyone in the game. To do this, she trained her swordsmanship in order to be able to defend herself, and tilled a field in the garden in order to practice her earth magic (unsuccessfully) and to be able to take care of herself in an emergency. On the first day at the Magic Academy, she meets her rival Maria Campbell. As one of the few bourgeois ones who can work magic, she will soon be bullied by classmates as in the game. But Catarina counteracts this and helps her. She is also enthusiastic about Maria's art of baking and so they quickly become friends. They often meet in the student council headed by Sirius Dieke, to which the best students come: In addition to Maria, Geordo and Alan.

characters

Katarina Claes ( カ タ リ ナ ・ ク ラ エ ス , Katarina Kuraesu )
Speaker: Maaya Uchida
Katarina is the protagonist. She has brown hair, piercing blue eyes and a barely noticeable scar on her forehead. Katarina is insensitive, but friendly and happy and has a vivid imagination. Due to her down-to-earth and engaging nature she easily wins the friendship and hearts of others, whereby she does not notice this, since her whole focus is on averting her bad end, whereby she instead focuses on simple-minded plans such as growing vegetables (so that she at least work after her exile as a farmer's wife) or to tinker paper snakes (to surprise the opponent in an argument).
She loves gardening and climbing trees, but this causes her mother's displeasure, who sees this as inappropriate behavior for a duke's daughter.
Katarina masters earth magic, but only very weakly, in the sense that she can produce mounds of earth a few centimeters high.
Jeord Stuart ( ジ オ ル ド ・ ス テ ィ ア - ト , Jiorudo Sutiāto )
Speaker: Shota Aoi
Jeord is the third prince. With his blue eyes and blonde hair, he is blessed with excellent looks, intelligence, and athletic and artistic skills. Since everything is easy for him and he is always bored, this is hidden behind a facade. Since Katarina's accident at the age of 8 in which she drew a scar and of which he was guilty, he has been engaged to him in reparation. Although her scar has long since been barely visible and even though Katarina has offered to break the engagement, he insists on keeping it, because Katarina is the only person who enjoys his interest with her unpredictable behavior and behavior that is untypical for a noblewoman.
Its only weakness are snakes. Since the play Katarina perishes by his sword in Jeord's path, the real Katarina tries to make as lifelike paper snakes as possible over the course of several years, as she hopes to use them to scare and distract him during the eventual fight with him.
He masters fire magic.
Keith Claes ( キ ー ス ・ ク ラ エ ス , Kīsu Kuraesu )
Speaker: Tetsuya Kakihara
Keith in Katarina's adoptive brother. In the game, Katarina's mother assumes that her husband has cheated and Keith is his illegitimate son, so that she and the game Katarina treat him incessantly bad. As a compensation, the game Keith developed a Playboy personality to divert his trauma with women.
Since the real Katarina knows about his circumstances, she makes sure that her mother and father talk to her right from the start, so that Keith grows up in a loving family and develops a rather reserved behavior. Katarina's mother trusts him so much that whenever Katarina has to comply with social duties, Keith is by her side to prevent her from committing social faux pas.
He has very strong earth magic.
Alan Stuart ( ア ラ ン ・ ス テ ィ ア - ト , Aran Sutiāto )
Speaker: Tatsuhisa Suzuki
Alan is the youngest son of a king. Since he was overshadowed by the perfect Jiord from birth, he developed inferiority complex. At first he sees Katarina as a rival for Mary's attention. However, after he got to know her better and she especially praised his musical skills, he became part of Katarina's circle of friends.
He masters water magic.
Mary Hunt ( メ ア リ ・ ハ ン ト , Meari Hanto )
Speaker: Miho Okasaki
Mary is the daughter of a margrave. After Katarina sees Mary's lush flower garden as a child and takes advice from her as to why Katarina's vegetables are not growing, they become best friends. When Katarina accidentally states that Mary has a "green thumb that lets all plants grow beautifully" - the sentence Alan used in the game to cheer Mary up and both of them later became engaged - Mary only talks about Katarina. As a result, Alan first becomes Katarina's rival and then becomes part of their circle of friends, as well as Mary and Alan, in contrast to the game, never entering into an engagement.
She grows up to be a very attractive young woman who is romantically interested in Katarina.
Mary is a master of water magic.
Sophia Ascart ( ソ フ ィ ア ・ ア ス カ ル ト , Sofia Asukaruto )
Speaker: Inori Minase
Sophia is the Chancellor's daughter, has white hair and red eyes, which is why she is teased as a "child of demons" except for her loving parents and her brother. When Katarina meets her at a tea party and, unlike the other guests, is fascinated by her snow-white hair, the two become good friends, especially since they both have the same romance taste.
Nicol Ascart ( ニ コ ル ・ ア ス カ ル ト , Nikoru Asukaruto )
Speaker: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka
Nicol is Sophia's brother, who always protects her from others. In contrast to most of the people who only pity him to constantly have to protect his sister, Katarina tells him that he is definitely proud to have such a cute little sister. This leads to Nicol, who otherwise distances himself from others and seeks Katarina's closeness if possible.
Maria Campbell ( マ リ ア ・ キ ャ ン ベ ル , Maria Kyamberu )
Speaker: Saori Hayami
Unlike the others, Maria is not a nobleman. However, since she masters the extremely rare light magic, she is exceptionally admitted to the magic school, which is actually reserved for the nobility. She is beautiful, gentle, humble and loves to bake sweets.
In the game she is the protagonist who has to assert herself against all odds (especially Katarina) and finally comes together with Jeord, Alan, Keith or Nicol, whom she all somehow helps, with the result that the game Katarina perishes or is banished.
However, the reborn Katarina has now mostly unconsciously taken care of the problems of the individual characters, and also protects Maria from bullying attempts by the other nobles, so that there is no romance between Maria and the boys and Maria and Katarina become good friends. Nevertheless, Katarina is still firmly convinced that her demise is imminent.
