The Otterbach is a 9.1 km long right tributary of the Lauter in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Kaiserslautern .

The Otterbach rises about 2.4 km north of Otterberg on the eastern flank of the Bruchberg at an altitude of 357 m above sea level. NHN . First flowing to the east, the stream turns its course in a wide arc to the southwest, flows through Otterberg and flows into Otterbach at 217 m above sea level. NHN on the right in the Lauter .
On its 9.1 km long path, the stream overcomes a height difference of 140 m, which corresponds to a mean bed gradient of 15.4 ‰. The 29.564 km² catchment area is drained to the North Sea via Lauter, Glan , Nahe and Rhine .

The Otterbach is one of the fine-material, silicate low mountain streams. Its water structure is mostly strong to very strong, but completely changed in the location of Otterberg.
