Otto-Henning Nebe

Otto-Henning Nebe (born May 13, 1908 in Posen ; † September 2, 1941 in Jarzewo near Smolensk ) was a German Protestant theologian.

Life

Otto Henning Nebe (Otto-Henning Heinrich Friedrich Nebe) was born on May 13, 1908 as the son of District Administrator Dr. jur. Hans Nebe (actually: Johannes Friedrich Hermann Arnold Nebe born January 5, 1872 in Roßleben) and his wife Elfriede Nebe (born Sauer on March 3, 1878 in Chemnitz) were born in Posen. Until 1919 he attended the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Gymnasium in Posen, he passed his Abitur in 1926 at the State Gymnasium in Meseritz ( Grenzmark ).

During his school days Nebe was active in youth circles and from 1923 within the Black Reichswehr . After graduating from high school, he was regional leader Ostmark of the Greater German Youth Association and the Greater German Ring . From 1926 he studied theology, philosophy and sociology in Berlin, Königsberg and Breslau. In Königsberg he was involved in the Greater German Guild Hermann Balk, which merged with the local youth movement, reformed university guild Skuld .

In 1930 Nebe completed his first theological exam and his licentiate . His second exam followed a year later, and in 1933 he was ordained and appointed to the pastor's position in Wirrwitz near Breslau . Since 1930 he published numerous theological writings. In 1933 Nebe also submitted his philosophical dissertation on the subject of "Autonomy and Theonomy in Fichte ".

Nebe was asked by the Silesian Provincial Brother Council of the Confessing Church to refuse to be appointed to the Silesian examination office. Instead, the fraternal council proposed the establishment of its own examination office under the direction of Bishop Zänker and in agreement with the Confessing Church. Nebe was proposed for this examination office by the brother council.

On September 16, 1936 he married Maritta Freiin von Reibnitz (born January 7, 1915 in Potsdam, died March 21, 1999 in Munich). From this marriage two sons were born. On September 2, 1941, at the end of the Kessel Battle near Smolensk , Nebe fell as a lieutenant at Jarzewo.
