Otto Born

Otto Born (born March 26, 1892 in Löhme , † after 1945) was a German politician ( NSDAP ).

Life

Born attended elementary schools in Löhme and Werneuchen . He then earned his living as a coachman from 1907 to 1912. In 1912 he joined the military and took part in the First World War from 1914 to 1918 . Born was awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class.

First, after the end of the war, he became a member of the German Social Party , to which he belonged until 1923. On December 13, 1922, he joined the NSDAP, to which he belonged again from 1925 after the NSDAP was banned ( membership number 5,651). In 1929 he became a district councilor in Berlin-Mitte. On March 12, 1933, he was elected city councilor in Berlin and then briefly held the office of district councilor and deputy mayor. At that time he lived as a worker in Bergstrasse 18 there. Born ran on the nomination for the NSDAP at number 648 in the election for the German Reichstag on November 12, 1933. However, he did not enter the Reichstag in the direct election, but only moved up on April 23, 1935 for the resigned Achim Gercke .

From August 1935 to September 1936 he was mayor of Berlin-Mitte . On June 1, 1937, he resigned from the city administration and took over the full-time function of the NSDAP district leader in District V (Berlin).

Born was a member of the SS and reached the rank of SS-Standartenführer in 1943 .

In 1936 he received the Golden Gauehrenzeichen Berlin.
