Werner Steinhoff (born September 17, 1875 in Blankenburg , † January 11, 1949 in Kyritz ) was a German economist and politician ( DNVP ).

Life and work

After attending primary school and graduating from high school in Blankenburg am Harz , Steinhoff began studying economics at the universities in Leipzig and Göttingen , which he completed with the diploma examination as an economist RDV (Reich Association of German Economists). In the winter semester 1896/97 he had joined the student choir Wettina in the Sondershäuser Association in Leipzig , with his move to Göttingen he also joined the student choir of the Georgia Augusta in the Sondershäuser Association (today the Student Music Association of Blue Singers Göttingen ) in the winter semester 1898/99 . After completing his studies, he worked as a lawyer for the city ​​of Berlin until 1921 . He also acted as the association secretary of the Provincial Association of Greater Berlin of the Patriotic Women's Association of the German Red Cross and as the deputy chairman of the Provincial Association of the voluntary medical columns of the DRK in Greater Berlin. In addition, he was a member of the Stahlhelm and the National Association of German Officers (NDO).

MP

Steinhoff was a member of the Prussian Landtag from 1924 to 1932 . In the Reichstag election in September 1930 , he was elected to the German Reichstag , to which he was a member until 1933.

Public offices

Steinhoff was city councilor and welfare department of the city of Berlin, administrative district Wilmersdorf , from 1921 , and in March 1933 mayor of Mitte .
