Otto Friedrich August Heinrich von Lilienfeld-Toal (born December 19, 1827 , † February 10, 1891 in Riga ) was a Baltic nobleman , arms manufacturer and Russian major general .

Life

Otto Friedrich von Lilienfeld served as a staff officer in the Imperial Russian Army from 1862 . He had concentrated on weapons technology and worked as a consultant in the Sestrorezk weapons factory . When this state-owned factory was leased, he took it over in 1864 and ran it on his own for 5 years. In 1869 the leased arms factories were returned to the state. Von Lilienfeld was promoted to major general in 1871 and was stage manager in the arms and cartridge factories of the Russian army from 1879 to 1881 . His possessions included the Sakkenhausen manor with Bächhof and Hasenpoth Castle in Courland .

Origin and family

His father was the Russian colonel and real councilor Otto Friedrich von Lilienfeld (1796-1870), who was married to Constanze d'Auvray. The family had to call themselves Lilienfeld-Toal from 1883. His brother was the Russian privy councilor and governor of the Courland Governorate Paul Frommhold Ignatius von Lilienfeld-Toal (1829-1903). Otto Friedrich married Sarah Talbot (1830–1904) in 1859, their descendants were:

  • Alexander Friedrich James von Lilienfeld-Toal (* 1864 in Saint Petersburg , † 1925 in Krolewez ) ⚭ Rosalie Countess von der Mohl (1865–1941)
  • Lucie Konstanze von Lilienfeld-Toal (* 1865) ⚭ 1st marriage to Richard Luik, Russian Rittmeister ; 2. Marriage to Sergius Dolzhikov († 1898), Russian staff officer
