Otto Guggenbichler
Otto Guggenbichler (born May 30, 1924 , † December 12, 2009 in Tegernsee ) was a German journalist and documentary filmmaker . For the sake of his lifelong preoccupation with the Alps of colleagues Alps-Otto -called editor of one of the pioneers of the landscape film .
Life
Otto Guggenbichler was in Munich in 1953 with the thesis The Jachenau , an alpine landscape special for Dr. phil. PhD .
Guggenbichler had been employed by the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation from 1951 . He worked first as a reporter for the radio and regional reporting, then as an author for the school radio . From 1965 to 1971 he was head of the ARD studio in Rome , after which he became head of the television program “People and Environment”, head of the Bavaria department, head of the radio department “Land and People” and the television program area “Culture and Time”. In 1989 he retired.
In retirement he dealt with the natural history and settlement history of his homeland and was a co-initiator of the Tegernsee International Mountain Film Festival .

He made around 50 documentaries, mainly about the Alpine region , including about
- the alpine summer in the Karwendel
- the sinking of the village of Fall in the Sylvenstein reservoir
- the construction of the Montblanc tunnel
- the construction of the Brenner motorway
- the Brenta mountain range , which made the song La Montanara famous around the world.
