Otto Hachenberg
Otto Hachenberg (born June 25, 1911 in Anhausen , Neuwied district ; † March 24, 2001 in Bonn ) was a German astrophysicist .
From 1951 to 1961, Hachenberg was director of the Heinrich Hertz Institute for Vibration Research in Berlin-Adlershof, from 1962 professor in Bonn and from 1967 to 1978 director of the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy .
Hachenberg's research mainly concerned astrophysics ( novae and variable stars ), solar physics and radio astronomy . He also worked on radio frequency engineering , semiconductors and secondary electron emission .
