Otto Keller (born March 15, 1916 in Arbon , TG ; † October 27, 2003 there , reformed , entitled to live in Thal ) was a Swiss politician (FDP) and entrepreneur .

biography

Keller was born on March 15, 1916 in Arbon as the son of the land registry administrator and Cantonal Councilor Otto Keller senior. Keller initially completed training as a plumber in Zurich from 1932 to 1935 , and then from 1936 to 1938 studied technology at the Higher German Technical School for Metalworking and Installation in Aue . As a result, Keller was first as a construction manager in Munich from 1938 to 1939 , from 1942 to 1944 as a technician at Sulzer AG in Winterthur , then as a construction technician at Oerlikon-Bührle and finally until 1954 as a technical employee at "Max Gimmel AG" in Arbon before he founded the heating and ventilation technology company "Otto Keller AG" in 1954 .

Keller joined the Free Democratic Party in 1947. He then acted from 1952 to 1959 as secretary of the Thurgau cantonal party. In addition, he represented his party between 1953 and 1965 in the Thurgau Grand Council . In addition, he sat on the National Council for the canton from 1964 to 1979 . He also served as President of the Thurgau Trade Association from 1962 to 1979 and as a board member of the Swiss Trade Association from 1968 to 1979 .

In 1943 Otto Keller married Verena, the daughter of the tanner and manufacturer Max Gimmel. He died on October 27, 2003 a few months before his 88th birthday in Arbon.
