Eduard Otto Leisegang (born January 14, 1861 in Halle , † February 7, 1945 in Wiesbaden ) was a German Protestant theologian.

Life

After completing his studies, Leisegang received his first pastor's position in Blankenburg (near Bad Tennstedt ) in 1886 . Due to poor circumstances, he wanted to leave it again soon and in 1890 the only alternative he accepted was a job in the military as a pastor at the military girls orphanage in Pretzsch . In 1896 Leisegang moved to Colmar ( Alsace ) as a division pastor . In 1899 he was transferred as a cadet house pastor to Diez and in 1902 as a division pastor to Neisse . In 1906 he moved to Strasbourg (Alsace) in this position . In 1909, Leisegang accepted a position as superintendent and pastor under civil law in Prettin , where he remained until his retirement in 1926.

After that he evidently took up residence in Hamburg-Wandsbek and then moved to Wiesbaden, where he died at the end of the Second World War in 1945 as a result of a bomb being dropped.

In his marriage in 1885 four children were born, one of whom was the Leipzig philosopher Hans Leisegang (1890–1951).
