Otto Majewski

Otto Majewski (born August 14, 1943 in Munich ) is a German lawyer , ministerial official and industry manager .

Life

Majewski studied law at the University of Munich . After the state examination, he received his doctorate in 1969. jur.

From 1970 to 1971 he worked as assistant to the legal director of Bayerischer Rundfunk . In 1971 he moved to the CSU- led Bavarian State Ministry for State Development and Environmental Issues . He assisted State Minister Max Streibl (CSU) until 1988 . In 1973 he became the latter's personal advisor as environment minister and most recently accompanied the rank of government director . When Streibl became Minister of Finance in 1977, he remained his advisor. In 1979 Streibl appointed Majewski as advisor for state investments in the energy, transport and industrial sectors . In 1982 he was promoted to head of department and was responsible for the Bavarian state holdings, in particular for holdings in the aerospace sector, in aviation as well as in the banking and energy sectors.

On May 1, 1988 Otto Majewski switched to business and was appointed to the board of the majority state owned Bayernwerk AG , which was previously under the supervision of his department. At the beginning of 1990, he was promoted to deputy to CEO Jochen Holzer .

Otto Majewski is chairman of the Karl Max von Bauernfeind Association of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and was made an honorary citizen of TUM in 2006. He received the award "in recognition of his committed, successful work in the service of the Technical University of Munich, in particular in setting up an entrepreneurial academic fundraising as a new additional source of funding for the university".

Since 1962 he has been a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Vindelicia Munich. Later he became a member of the KDStV Gothia Würzburg .

Positions

Otto Majewski advocates the use of nuclear energy. He received the negative Dinosaur of the Year award from NABU for his “vehement fight” against the nuclear phase-out . Like no other nuclear manager, Majewski exceeded the amount of the alleged compensation claims of the power plant operators and demanded three-digit billions as the cost of the nuclear phase-out.
