Otto Plassmann

Otto Plassmann (born April 25, 1861 in Arnsberg ; † June 26, 1932 in Emden ) was a German lawyer and the first mayor of the city of Paderborn .

Life

He was the son of Ernst Plassmann (1820–1876), a lawyer and member of the Prussian House of Representatives , and Ottilie Sommer (1829–1900), the daughter of the politician and lawyer Johann Friedrich Joseph Sommer . His brother was the German astronomer Joseph Plassmann .

Initially, Otto Plassmann was a district judge in Balve , and later an alderman and second mayor of the city of Münster . From 1895 to 1919 he was mayor of the city of Paderborn , and since 1912 with the personal title of "Lord Mayor". He was also a board member of the Prussian City Council. From 1919 to 1921 he worked for Stinnes AG in Berlin, and from 1921 he was a board member of Rheinisch-Westfälische Elektrizitätswerke AG .

Otto Plassman was granted honorary citizenship of the city of Paderborn on April 27, 1931 .

His daughter Margaret, born in 1898, married the government builder Werner Adams .
