Otto Stammler

Otto Stammler (born April 4, 1882 Marktheidenfeld , † March 8, 1969 in Bamberg ) was a German lawyer and judge in Bavaria .

Life

Stammler was the son of the Marktheidenfeld forestry master and honorary citizen Paul Stammler. After studying law at the Julius Maximilians University in Würzburg , he first settled there as a lawyer before becoming a public prosecutor at the Lichtenfels district court in 1912 . After changing to the magistrate at the district court Augsburg in 1914 was followed by the convening in 1916 and participation in the First World War as an officer in the artillery .

After the war he was promoted to senior magistrate and finally transferred to the Aschaffenburg district court . In 1936, Stammler came to the Bamberg Higher Regional Court as a higher regional judge , where he became vice-president in 1937. From November 1938 to October 1939 he was acting president after the position was initially vacant after Albert Heuwieser left . In November 1939, Stammler was replaced by Ernst Dürig .

Stammler remained active at the Bamberg Higher Regional Court until his retirement in 1945.
