Otto Ungerbühler

Otto Ungerbühler (born July 12, 1799 in Mohrungen , † October 7, 1857 in Königsberg ) was a Prussian lawyer and syndic . He was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly from May to December 1848 .

Life

Otto Carl Gotthardt Ungerbühler was born as the son of Daniel Gotthardt Ungerbühler. His father was a judicial office actuary and syndic of the departmental landscape directorate in Mohrungen. He became an honorary citizen of the East Prussian city of Mohrungen and was awarded the Red Eagle Order, 4th class , for his services in 1847 . His mother, Charlotte Wilhelmine, was born in von Hirschfeldt.

In October 1818, Ungerbühler began studying law at the Albertina in Königsberg, where his presumptuous behavior made his fellow students unpleasant. After successfully completing his studies in the Prussian judicial service, he became an assistant syndic in his father's office from 1823. In the minutes he was then referred to as Ungerbühler II. In 1841 he was given the title of royal Prussian judicial councilor .

In the election for the Frankfurt National Assembly, Ungerbühler was elected a member of parliament on May 10, 1848, by the electors of constituency 14, which included the districts of Mohrungen and Prussian Holland . On May 19, 1848, he met with other East Prussian MPs for the first time in the Paulskirche in Frankfurt . He joined the casino faction . During the preliminary deliberations on the election of an imperial administrator , he was one of the applicants who wanted to have a vote after calling a name from the stands. He later supported a motion calling for three meetings a week to be held in order to be able to conclude the deliberations on the imperial constitution . On November 18, 1848, he was granted a leave request, with the condition that a period of four weeks should not be exceeded. Nevertheless, he was granted an extension on December 15, 1848, but he should be back in Frankfurt am Main on January 8, 1849 at the latest . However, in the first session after the Christmas holidays on December 28, 1848, the incumbent President of the National Assembly announced that the Deputy Ungerbühler, along with three other members, had resigned his mandate . Ungerbühler's successor was his elected deputy Wilhelm von Schrötter .

After the end of his parliamentary work, Ungerbühler took over a new office as syndic of the general landscape directorate in Königsberg in December 1848 . He died there on October 7, 1857 at the age of 58.
