Otto Voos

Otto Voos (born July 28, 1912 in Ohligs ; † November 14, 1987 ) was a German politician and honorary mayor of Solingen .

Life

Otto Voos was born in the town of Ohligs, which was then part of the Solingen district , where he also passed the certificate of maturity at the Ohligs- Walder Realgymnasium ( Humboldt-Gymnasium ) in 1932 . He then studied economics and Protestant theology . After the Second World War , Voos was one of the founders of the Ohligser CDU in 1946 , for which he moved to the Solingen city council in 1952, of which he was a member until 1984. From 1952 to 1961 he represented the mayors Eugen Maurer and Karl Haberland as mayor on official occasions . He himself was the only one to hold the honorary post of Lord Mayor twice, namely from 1961 to 1964 and 1975 to 1976. Otto Voos was a full-time manager from 1946 to 1975.
