Otto von Bothmer

Otto Reichsgraf von Bothmer (* October 4, 1865 in Wiesbaden ; † March 22, 1918 at Bothmer Castle ) was the largest landowner in the Klützer Winkel and a member of the German Reichstag as Fideikommissherr .

Life

Bothmer attended the Katharineum in Lübeck and the Friedrich-Franz-Gymnasium (Parchim) . He studied agriculture at the Friedrichs University in Halle . As the owner of Bothmer's entails, he was the owner of the Arpshagen, Hofzumfelde, Klütz (Bothmer Castle), Hohen-Schönberg, Brook, Christinenfeld, Elmenhorst, Goldbeck, Grundshagen, Hofe, Steinbeck, Stellshagen, Parin and Zarnewitzerhagen estates - a total of over 7800 hectares of land. He was also a lieutenant in the Dragoon Regiment No. 17 and the Landwehr as well as an honorary member of the Klütz Warrior Association.

From 1907 to 1912 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin 1 ( Hagenow , Grevesmühlen ) and the Liberal Association .
