Otto von Wackerbarth (politician)

Otto Julius Freiherr von Wackerbarth called von Bomsdorff (* March 10, 1823 , † May 17, 1904 in Briesen ) was the owner of the manor and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Von Wackerbarth was a chamberlain and manor owner on Briesen near Cottbus . He was the son of Adolf Leberecht von Bomsdorff auf Linderode, who was born in 1810 by his childless aunt Helene Freifrau von Wackerbarth . von Bomsdorff and her husband Ludwig had been adopted and so came into the possession of Briesen and Guhrow . He first served with the Zieten Hussars , where he retired as a major.

In April 1879 he was elected in a by-election for the late MP Karl von Bärensprung in the German Reichstag for the German Conservative Party and the constituency of Frankfurt an der Oder 9 (Cottbus). He held this mandate until 1881. He was also a member of the Prussian manor house .

He was married to Gertrud von Bredow (1841-1918), they had four children; the second son Oskar (1862–1937), owner of the manor on Briesen, was the last royal Prussian district administrator in the Cottbus district under Kaiser Wilhelm II (until 1919) .
