Friedrich Wilhelm Otto von der Schulenburg (born June 17, 1888 in Sonderburg , Schleswig-Holstein Province , Kingdom of Prussia , † August 22, 1972 in Northeim ) was a German lawyer and politician.

origin

Otto came from the old Markian nobility of the Schulenburg family . He was the son of Otto von der Schulenburg (1834-1923) and his wife Hedwig Katharine Luise Hanssen (1845-1932). She was the daughter of the economist and agricultural historian Georg Hanssen (1809-1894) and his wife Maria.

Life

From 1898 he was a high school student in Göttingen and from 1903 he attended the school of the former Ilfeld monastery . After 1908 he studied law at the universities of Grenoble , Paris and Göttingen . In 1912 he passed the first state examination and became a trainee lawyer. In 1920 he passed his second state examination and became a government assessor. In 1925 he became district administrator for the Bleckede district and in 1932 for the Northeim district . In 1933 he joined the NSDAP and in 1934 the law enforcement association . In 1945 he was elected district administrator of the Zellerfeld district, but then gave up the offices again a little later. In 1949 he took part in the denazification and was classified as exonerated.
