The protagonist of the plot is the otaku (anime and mangafan) Shin'ichi Kanō ( 加納 慎 一 ), whose request for love was abruptly rejected by a long-time friend with reference to his hobby, whereupon he isolated himself socially. After a year, his parents give him the choice of going back to school or looking for a job. He then applied to the company Sōgo Entertainment Shōsha Amutec-sha ( 総 合 エ ン タ ー テ イ メ ン ト 商社 ア ミ ュ ュ テ ッ ク 社 , "General entertainment trading company Amutec") who are looking for an otaku. During the interview, however, he is stunned by Jinzaburō Matoba ( 的 t 甚 三郎 ).

Since they then have to help their parents in the fields, they simply don't have time to learn to read and write. In addition, it is perfectly normal for servants to be physically punished by their masters. Minori tells him that there are cultural differences that he has to accept. When Petralka, out of jealousy of Myucel that she spends so much time in Shin'ichi, covers Myucel with the worst racist comments, Shin'ichi almost bursts the collar. He explains to Petralka that the principles of freedom, brotherhood and equality apply in his culture , recognizing that the latter word does not even exist in the language of Eldant. Petralka therefore orders him to bring her Japanese and thus his culture closer. Shin'ichi, on the other hand, is now confronted with the question of how far he is allowed to intervene in Eldant's culture.

Over time, Petralka also befriends Myucel, especially after she saved Petralka's life in an attack by extremists who opposed Petralka's gender equality policy. Later joins the naive werewolf Elbia Hanaiman ( エ ル ビ ア ・ ハ ー ナ イ マ ン , Erubia Hānaiman ) , who was captured as a spy of the neighboring kingdom . From September 25, 2012 (issue 25 or 11/2012) to November 7, 2014 (issue 49 or 12/2014), Kōdansha's manga magazine Good! Afternoon a manga adaptation. Anime

On April 24, 2013, the adaptation of the novel series as an anime was announced in Kōdanshas Shūkan Shōnen Magazine issue 21/22 . After Scrapped Princess (2003), Strait Jacket (2007/8), Magician's Academy (2008) and Shinkyoku Sōkai Polyphonica (2007–2009), this is the fifth work by Ichirō Sakaki to be implemented as an anime.

Outbreak Company is animated by Studio feel. Directed by Kei Oikawa and character design by Takashi Mamezuka.

The 12 episodes ran from October 4 to December 20, 2013 after midnight (and thus on the previous television day ) on TBS in the greater Kanto area , followed by MBS in the greater Kinki area on October 8, and CBC in the greater Nagoya area (Chūkyo) on October 11. , as well as on October 13th nationwide by satellite on BS-TBS.

The soundtrack for the series is from Keiji Inai. The opening title Univer Page ( ユ ニ バ ー ペ ー ジ , Yunibā Pēji ) was written and composed by Shō Watanabe and sung by Suzuko Mimori . The final title Watashi no Hōsekibako ( 私 の 宝石 箱 , "my jewelry box") was in turn written and composed by Yūyu and by "Petralka Anne Eldant III. (Mai Fuchigami) “sung.
