Ove Molin (born May 27, 1971 in Huddinge ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player and current coach .

Career

Ove Molin began his career as a hockey player in the youth of AIK Ishockey , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Elitserien in the 1988/89 season , where he remained pointless and goalless in three games. The attacker then played for Danderyds HC for two years , in the then second-rate Division 1 , before he was signed by first division club Brynäs IF in the summer of 1991 , for whom he remained uninterrupted until the end of the 2009/10 season with the exception of the 1996/97 season, in which he was under contract at Helsingfors IFK in the Finnish SM-liiga , was on the ice. With Brynäs, the left shooter won the Swedish championship in 1993 and 1999 . He was also runner-up with his team in the 1994/95 season. In March 2010 he declared his professional career over. In January 2011, he decided to make a comeback with the Swedish fifth division club Långshyttans AIK in Division 3 , but only completed a single game.

Since the 2010/11 season, Molin has been working as an assistant coach in the youth department of his home club Brynäs IF.

International

For Sweden , Molin took part in the junior division of the U18 European Junior Championship in 1989 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 1991 . In the senior sector he was only in his country's squad at the 1999 World Cup .
