Oyón is the capital of the province of Oyón in the northeast of the Lima region . The small town in the central west of Peru is also the administrative seat of the district of the same name . Oyón had 8,334 inhabitants at the 2017 census. 10 years earlier the population was 7,706.
Geographical location
The city of Oyón is located in the Peruvian Western Cordillera at an altitude of 3620 m . The upper reaches of the Río Huaura River flows west of the city. The state capital Lima is 155 km south of Oyón.
