Péter Gárdos
Péter Gárdos (born June 8, 1948 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian documentary filmmaker and novelist.
Life
Péter Gárdos is the child of the Debrecen Holocaust survivors Agnes and Miklós Gárdos, who married in 1946. Miklós Gárdos later worked as a journalist . After studying at the Eötvös Loránd University , Péter Gárdos took a position at the Hungarian state news and documentary film studio MAFILM Híradó- és documentary film Stúdiójában as an assistant director and became a director there . Gárdos has produced a large number of documentaries. During the communist era , he made the film Szamárköhögés in 1986 about the defeated Hungarian revolution of 1956 .
Gárdos received various awards, including the 1989 Balázs Béla-díj . In 2014 he wrote a novel about the survival of his parents and also made a film himself.
