LEDA / PGC 11642 , also NGC 1217-2 , is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sab in the constellation Fornax in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 285 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 40,000 ly. Together with NGC 1217 , it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair .
The galaxy IC 1875 is located in the same area of the sky .
